Build Links to Your Website

One of the things that will attract the attention of the search engines is getting other sites to link to you.

The thing is that some people go out there and just ask anyone to link to them. Like a massage therapist will ask someone doing lawn mowing to link to them just for the sake of the link. Well, I guess that isn’t the best example but the whole idea in getting sites to link to you is getting high quality sites to link to you.

As a massage therapist or other business owner the best thing would be to get other health care practitioners to link to you – the doctors that refer to you, health clubs, yoga teachers, chiropractors – people you work with or know of that deal with the same kind of health challenges that you see in clients. (You can also link to them to create an even higher value.)

Sitebuildit! makes the whole link exchange thing easy with their Value-Exchange program that is free and anyone can use it – whether you have a SBI! Site or not. Just fill out the short form and you will be sent an email when they find a good link possibility. You then can choose who you want to exchange links with.

The other place you can add your link to for free is on my website www.themassage-directory.com. It is a free link board system where you can add your website yourself. Just click on the add massage button in the find a massage therapist board. Write whatever you want about yourself and your business. This is a good exercise in learning how to write inspirational and action oriented sentences that will tell people what it is that you do – what solution will you provide for them and where you are located.

For the most part it isn’t about getting direct traffic from these links although you may get some. What it does is help you look popular to the search engines so they will look at your site and index your pages.
