I have been running into alot of link farms or what I call link scams…

You probably don’t even know when you are on a site.

They just create a bunch of links on keywords that are highly searched for and create websites about a topic and put Google ads or other ads on them. There isn’t any real content.

Here are a few that I recently found. I am only putting a link when it’s so bad that you just have to see it to believe it. BE SURE YOU DON’T CLICK ON ANYTHING AS IT MAKES THEM MONEY!

The reason they bother me so much is that I put over 7 years in to my websites and they are probably making money off of providing nothing…

One of the ways to make additional income from a website is to have a website that delivers high quality content for a specific niche and place google adsense ads on the website.

I was so amazed when I started this program. I had been hearing about it for awhile but didn’t think it could ever work because I never click on ads – who clicks on ads?

Well after trying them on my top 25 pages of my website www.thebodyworker.com – hmmm. People are clicking on ads. Hmmm. If I put the ads on all 500 of my pages how much would I make? Well it’s enough to cut my massage practice back to 3 days a week so I can write more.

The whole idea is to create a niche on a specific topic that has a high interest and the Google ads will be targeted towards the keywords that you use on the page. There is a good chance that people who are reading your information will be interested in the ads and click.

I don’t recommend putting adsense ads on your service related pages as that is just attracting your competitions ads and people won’t be paying attention to your service.

It’s better to create a specific topic for the google adsense to work best. My site www.massagetherapycareers.com is a tighter niche and built with specific software (Sitebuildit!) that guides you toward creating a content driven site. than my www.thebodyworker.com and gets a higher click through rate because of this. My site www.thebodyworker.com has just got so many various topics and it pulls so many non- massage therapists with my anatomy pages being viewed the most by people.

One of the things you can do with your website to create additional income is to sell

things through affiliate programs or sell your own ebook that you write about a specific topic.

Affiliate programs are programs with companies that pay you when you refer someone to the other website and a person makes a purchase there. Like I sell books through Amazon.com and I also am an affiliate of Sitebuildit! so when I talk about a book and refer people to amazon.com or talk about building a website with Sitebuildit! I get paid.

The way to sell affiliate programs is to learn to write about them from your own perspective – what have they done for you and what can they do for others. You should own or use the affiliate programs you promote as you need to know if they are reliable to send people to. You could lose clients or readers if the company has bad customer service or slow service.

I am setting up a new website for my clinic using the Sitebuildit! system to compare to my website at www.citycentermassage.com

My current site has generated some new clients each month but mainly insurance clients looking for more information on me.

I am intending to get away from taking insurance for payment as they don’t pay as well and they take to long to pay.

My new site will be www.massageseattle.net and I am strictly following the SBI way which is to build pages with keyword focused topics. If you take a look at the website you will see the title of pages and how the page content directly reflects the file name and description. This is what the search engines will read when they are scanning your site for information and it is what will come up in the listing of your site.

The first part of building a website that works is about creating keyword focused topics for the search engines and people who are searching for such topics – getting your page to the top of google results. The next part is getting the person who just searched for “massage seattle” to click on my page and call!
