Massage Jobs

Jobs in Massage are a fairly recent phenomenon.  When I started out 20 years ago as a massage therapist there were no jobs to speak of.  There were some opportunities to work in spa’s or clinics but they were as an independent contractor which basically means that you were self employed.

Today there are more jobs in massage but most of them are at franchises like Massage Envy that are low paying positions.   There are two sides to working at places like that.  On one hand you will get many clients to work on and a  lot of hands on experience.  If you are good at working with clients you could also make a lot in tips which is how you can be successful working at a place like that.

Even with more jobs available most massage therapy jobs are still really independent contractor jobs.  Most massage therapists are actually starting their own businesses but it is often confusing to figure out just what your status should be or better yet – what you want it to be.

Massage Employers are fairly new at creating job rules and regulations themselves so going into a potential massage employers office armed with as much knowledge as you can about what you want and what you can and will provide to the employer will help you to look better in that employers eyes.  You can also help them to be aware of the laws and what you need to be successful as a massage therapist which also means that they will be successful too.

With that in mind I have written and Ebook – The Massage Therapy Job Guide which will help you in figuring out what is a fair salary or fair compensation and how to get what you need to be successful.  You can purchase it through my other site www.massage-career-guides.com
