Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction states basically that everything you have right now in your life – whether it is money issues, health issues or relationship issues – you have created for yourself. The law of attraction is based on many early scholars writing and philosophies. It isn’t anything new. And it isn’t a secret anymore.
The law says that “like attracts like”. If you are thinking negative thoughts you will get those things or other negative things because your negative vibration attracts negative vibrations. If you are thinking positive things and feeling positive emotions such as love and joy, you will attract more of those things.

When I first really got the idea that I create my own reality, it was incredibly painful to realize that I have created everything in my life. I had to turn and face all that I created and it is a painful process to begin to understand this law of attraction.

Grieving all that you have lost or have never had as a result of this is a big part of the process of learning to apply the law of attraction. The grief keeps the flow of energy blocked and keeps the unconscious thoughts unconscious.
Our beliefs are also a big part of this all. What we believe we attract. The big thing is that most of our beliefs are unconscious. The only way you know they are at work is the way you are feeling. Inside of us all are the beliefs that were ingrained in us and supported through the process of growing up. We begin to believe we have to please people to be loved, that we have to get good grades to be loved and we have to be quiet to be loved. There are basically 3 different false beliefs that most will carry with them – the fear of abandonment, low self esteem (not worthy) and issues of safety and trust.

If you don’t know what you believe, just take a look at your life and see what you have in it. It will tell you what you believe. Sometimes it is not so obvious and you have to start asking what would a person believe who has this?

So the first step in learning the law of attraction is beginning to understand this law – that like attracts like and begin to uncover the beliefs that you have about yourself that just aren’t true. A part of us will act in a way to keep making these beliefs come true.

Say you think you are a shy person and that you don’t think you have anything of value to say or that anyone will respect what you say or that people will reject you if you say the wrong thing or even say anything at all. You will keep attracting people into your life who will be showing you your shyness even more until you can see that it is all just a bunch of false beliefs.

So if what we think about turns into what we have – our reality – how does one change what they have? By changing your thoughts.

With most thoughts being unconscious (like driving a car – we aren’t aware of what we are doing most of the time) how do we become more conscious. By paying more attention to what you are feeling. Your feelings are your internal guidance system that will show you what you are thinking. When you feel sadness, guilt, defensive you will begin to know you are on the wrong track. You may not become aware of the exact thought you are thinking and I don’t think that is important. What is important that you change your thinking to something more positive to feel better!!

I will be talking more about this and also outlining the process more on my websites www.thebodyworker.com and also here on the blog and in my discussion group.

One of the best books that I have read on this is “The Law of Attraction” by Ester and Jerry Hicks.

  1. you do not have to change yourself just your thoughts. it is a long process of opening your heart to open your mind to see all the false beliefs you hold. they are ingrained and you have to be open to see your truths.
