What you said may be true. But I still don't think the average massage therapist with a website understands the importance of the inbound link. I would have never have learned or understood it on my own without SiteBuildIt! training. Look at how few therapist out there use your http://www.themassage-directory.com/ to get an inbound link. It's one of the few out there that's free and doesn't contain a "nofollow" tag in the script. This is the thing they should be striving for.

Maybe consider offering it again to the Yahoo group, Julie. I don't think they even know it's there and available.

Getting inbound links from other massage therapists may seem like a conflict of interest especially if they are in your area. Many massage therapists seem to work from a competitive mind and think if they put a link to you from their website that they would lose clients.

I would think that your best source for inbound links would be complementary therapists and doctors or other businesses in your neighborhood.

Also using the free link directories like http://www.strongestlinks.com/directories.php

http://info.vilesilencer.com/

is a good way to get inbound links.

While you didn't really mention it in this post, I know you've often talked about creating good inbound links. I know there are plenty of massage therapists out there with a website (SBI and non-SBI), but what I find amazing is the lack of trying of inbound links exchange between massage websites.

I made an offer of link exchange back a few months ago on the yahoo forum, and not a single taker.

Either people don't have direct access to chaging their own website code (sites managed by a professional webmaster who charges for changes) or they don't understand the importance of the inbound links from "like subject matter" sites.

It seems to me the idea of exchanging links with a massage therapist is a no brainer and should be an easy way to score us up in the Search Engines.
