Blogging has almost tripled my traffic in the past 6 months here on www.massagepracticebuilder.com.
I have discovered over time I have come to know quite a bit about wordpress and really recommend it to others. I also have this new theory that you can do with a blog just about the same thing that Site Build It! is doing and am testing out my new theory. I have added some features to the blog such as a google sitemap generator, changed they way the file names are created and am researching other plugins for the wordpress software that will allow me to start tracking the results. Setting up a blog is really easy with the hosting company I use and have been using for many years – www.ez-web-hosting.com.
www.ez-web-hosting.com lets you set up a blog with just a few clicks. I am in the process of writing a short guide on how to do it. I should have it done by next weekend hopefully.
The reason why you want your own blog and not one just hosted on wordpress.com is to avoid any confusion over who owns the blog and to be able to control and analyze your results better.
The way a blog works is that when you post it sends out something called a “ping” to the search engines and people who have subscribed to your blog. The search engines come back to see what you have written and people can also subscribe to your blog and get notices when you post a new item. People can choose to read the whole thing or not easily from their email rss reader or other rss reader. Rss took me awhile to really understand what it was all about and I still don’t really get it all but all I know is that it helps build traffic. The best way to understand rss is to subscribe to an rss feed. I use thunderbird as an email client and I can set up my new feed accounts easily. Every time I check my email, I get a list of new posts to the things that I subscribe to.
While I still prefer Site Build It! overall, a blog can do some of the same things and I like the ease of building content through posting pages or posts like this. The same things that Site Build it! talk about in their manuals and video guides such as the action guide like how to choose a domain name and choosing a site concept can be used to easily start making money using Google Adsense.
I will be keeping you posted on how the new changes I have added here on this blog can help increase traffic and maybe even start a new site to test it out. I’ll get a short ebook out soon as I said on how to do it all.

I have Google set to give me a list of references to massage each day. Every time Julie puts massage in the title of her blog or mentions it in the post it shows up in the list. This one did not so I found it by the RSS feed. Her blog links to her web sites so if searchers find her blog interesting they may click through and increase traffic/customers/add revenue.
I should be working on my own blog but I am too tired after 7 clients today so I am writing on hers.
