The process of building a website

Yes, I have become a website addict! But you see, it isn’t really about the website. It is about the process of building one that is so exciting to me.

When I work with people to help them build a website for their massage practice, I help people take a really good look at themselves and then get a good understanding of who their client is so that they can then figure out what they want to say to someone to help them connect with that potential client.

You have to really know yourself and what it is that you do. What types of massage do you do AND why? Yes why do you do that? What do you get out of doing that type of work? What will your client get out of you doing that type of work? What does doing massage mean to you? What purpose does it serve for you to do massage? What feeling to get when you do a massage whether it is for money or not? What solution do you provide for people?

Who is your ideal client? Not just what age, occupation, location or other demographics. What problems do they have? What do they value? What are they looking for? Put yourself in your clients shoes. How would they go about finding a massage therapist that fits their needs?

When you have a good picture of who you are and what you do and why and combine it with your picture of your ideal client, you will have to talk about yourself and communicate what it is that you do to potential clients who are looking for what it is that you do.

That’s all that marketing is. Who you are + your ideal client = a successful business relationship.

The process of creating a website will take you through all of these steps in depth and will keep you focused on those things. You will have to write about 30 pages on what you do using the keywords that someone would use to find you. You will have to continue to write pages and keep adding things to your website to attract more search engines and people.

This whole process is taught in the Free Service Seller’s Masters Course from Sitebuildit!

If you so start a website for your massage practice, there are also other ways to make money from your site. One of the things that I see that is really needed is a Continuing education calendar for each major city. It could be combined with a job/office for rent listing center. This whole thing could really be done through your website and make you money on the side.
If anyone is iterested in doing something like that, please contact me and I will help you as much as I can.
If you are wanting to build a website on something else besides a massage (or any other service related business) and learn to make money with your website, it again is a process. What you have to figure out is what are you most passionate about? What do you love talking about? What are you an expert at? What lights up your life? It doesn’t have to be anything big or amazing. Do you know a lot about a certain disease or condition? Do you love hiking or birdwatching? Do you have a craft or hobby that you participate in? Do you know a lot about investing, buying houses, growing tomatoes, homeschooling, taking care of elderly, creating landscapes, interior decorating, a certain type of massage or bodywork?
What ever it is there is a website in it and it is a process of learning to uncover your passion and make it into something that makes you a second income or even a full time income or money to supplement your retirement or whatever it is that you want the money for.

There are many ways of making money online. You can see some of them on my website, but the main way that I have been making money online is with Google Adsense. All you do is set up a free account with them and they give you the code to put on your website for the ads and when ever anyone clicks on the ad- you get paid. I know it just sounds like the craziest thing you ever heard. Who clicks on ads? Well someone is and it is helping me make a decent size income so I can focus on my writing and keeping you informed and challenging you to become a successful massage therapist!
