If you haven’t already noticed I am a fanatic about websites for massage therapists. For me they have been a saving grace because honestly I hate marketing and being the shy person that I am – I hate having to be a sales person. I just let my website do all of the work for me. I just have to keep focused on what I want and the rest just happens. Of course I take action and lots of it – writing new articles for my website each week and writing a regular email newsletter for my clients. I am not that good of a writer really. I just write the way I would talk. That makes it much easier for me.
If you don’t have a website for your massage business or you have a website but it isn’t getting a steady flow of clients coming into your massage business – it is about time you invested in one.
The website host that I use and recommend is Site Build it! I just spent a few days updating the pages on my websites about websites for massage therapists on www.workless-playmore.com. I have written down everything I know about creating a website and how to get that website found and get a steady flow of clients. It is best to use Site Build it to help back you up. They also now have a team of webmasters who can build a site for you -their SiteSell Services team for those of you who don’t have the time to spend on creating a site. For do it your-selfers you can actually do it all yourself because it comes with a complete step by step action guide. (If you want to read it before you buy just email me and I can give you a link to the guide that comes in written and video form.)

We actually don’t share the same keyword. My main keyword is actually downtown seattle massage because that is where my office is. Because of the size of the city of Seattle, most of the people who find me through ‘massage, seattle’ are probably not looking for me but I can make money off of them just the same by using Adsense and other methods.
Your main keyword should be “Lake City Seattle Massage” or some variation of that. People looking for ‘massage, downtown seattle’ won’t be going to lake city I don’t think.
Getting the keywords narrowed down is important in getting the right potential clients to your website.

Hello Julie, Thank you for the article. Our websites are neck in neck with Google standings for Seattle massage. Howdy Goggle neighbor. I find that in our field, website content is just as important as Search Engine Optimization (SEO). It’s great to have a lot of people coming to your site. Even more important is they see the truth that if they come to you for a massage you will help them. I am in the middle of revamping my website. Included with this, I am doing an exchange with a writer who is helping me with my content.
A massage career is a fascinating journey. Good luck with yours. PJ Harris, LMP
What do you need 12 domains for?
I checked the one you listed in your post and your site has a really poor alexa ranking and no page rank at all. The problem is in the keywords you used to name your site and the keywords you used to name the pages.
What keywords would people use to find you? Most people I think would look for ‘massage, your city’ or some variation of that. Using the Google Keyword Search tool it shows that between 110-170 people a month search for massage, plymouth MI and that is just Google. There are also 4 other top search engine and hundreds of others. I don’t think many people know about neuromuscular therapy. You don’t mention the word massage in any of your pages or use it as keywords in the file names.
If you named your site massage-plymouth-michigan or some variation of that you would more likely get more traffic. That is what SBI will teach you about – how to choose the best domain to get more traffic using the main keywords throughout your website.
You have a lot of good information in your pdf files but you should also create regular html pages that are optimized for the SE on each topic and also allow readers to download the pdf.
I don’t know if you have a xml sitemap but that is also important in getting your site found. SBI also comes with a mini-blog system that creates a sitemap for you automatically and then pings the search engines when ever you update or add a page. This gets fairly immediate results.
My clinic site http://www.massageseattle.net is on the first page of Google for massage seattle and more importantly downtown seattle massage. ( I should have named my site that now in hindsight – but I learn as I go!)
There is a piece of software that comes with SBI that brainstorms the keywords that you put into it which helps you find the right keywords for your massage business.
With SBI you don’t need ads everywhere although they help.
You can see tons of SBI sites that are getting results on their results page.

If you purchase an SBI site you can join my sbi mentoring Yahoo group where I can give you individual support in using sbi.
You also have a good niche to write about – the neuromuscular therapy and could do a whole site on that alone and probably make an extra $1000 or so a month depending on how much time you put into it- writing about the history of NMT, different teachers, different uses, etc.

hi,
I checked into site build it. it sounds good at first but I saw 2 problems with it. first, its what $25-30 per month essentially and you only get to use one domain name per site. my current provider charges me $8 per month and I get to have like 25 domain names to one site or as many sites as id like to have. and believe me I use about 12 domain names.
2nd, I checked the rankings of some of these sites built on there and they are not as high as they claimed their sites get.
i’ve been doing web sites for 10 years. it takes a lot of work on the therapists part to get a page ranked higher. no one knows our business like we do so how are they going to know how to build a good massage therapy site? and then optimize it with the appropriate words?
I hit the ground running when I graduated from massage therapy school, trying to develop an internet presence putting ads EVERYWHERE on the net. which was probably the smartest thing I could ever do. I got myself a cell phone and then a relatively cheap toll free number before I ever started my own clinic after I realised that the places I worked at before I opened my clinic were incompetent in booking me appointments. or they were very deceitful in not scheduling ME the appointments. now all that finger walking is now helped my current private clinic. however im still not getting the amount of clients id like.
